MAN FOUND GUILTY IN RAPE OF 11-YEAR OLD GIRL

Another sex offender is behind bars today, after a jury found him guilty of rape in the first degree.
Raymond Doss fathered a child five years ago with a girl who was 11-years old at the time.
Both defendant and victim, testified in Judge Little`s courtroom that intercourse between them was consensual, however, under Alabama law, a person cannot consent legally. Doss claims that he had no idea the victim was underage at the time of relations, and the defense argued that Doss admitted to having sex with the girl because he had no idea that what he had done was a crime.
The victim pressed charges after she discovered she had become pregnant as a result of intercourse with Doss. The victim is now 16 and Doss is 29.
