Pope John Paul II`s passing isn`t just a loss to the catholic community, but to the nation according to political leaders. Because the Pope was such a humanitarian...he visited many foreign nations and affected non-catholics. The Polish and Jewish people have all been affected by the Pope`s kind spirit, and local political anyalyst Dr. Richard Martin says the Pontiff`s life affected people across the world, and his death will too. Martin also credits the Pope`s personality and warm nature for making such humanitarian strides, which bridged the gap between catholocism and other religions. He says the next Pope is not required to do so, but may follow in John Paul II`s footsteps.
