Updated: January 7, 2009
People in the Wiregrass came together to mourn the loss of Pope John Paul,II, and to celebrate his life. Parishoners gathered at St. Colomba Catholic Church in Dothan last evening to mark the passing of the church`s pontiff. Pope John Paul traveled around the globe more than any other Pope, and even though he never came to the Dothan area, people here still felt his presence through church doctrine and prayer. The official funeral mass for Pope John Paul,II, will be held Friday morning in Rome.
