LOCAL TEEN REGONIZED FOR SAVING ELDERLY MAN FROM BURNING HOME

Recently, Dale County Sheriff Bryant Mixon awarded a local teenager for saving an elderly man from his burning home. Justin McGhee from Ariton, received a call from his aunt on December 15th telling him of a house fire on Williams Street. Justin who is a volunteer firefighter went immediately to the house. An elderly man was home at the time and he was unaware of the fire. When Justin approached the front door to tell the man his house was on fire, the man shot at him, thinking he was there to rob him. Justin received a plaque from the sheriff and a Medal for Valor.
