A teenager is safe, and a suspect is behind bars after a kidnapping that occured on Friday.
An Amber Alert was issued for 14-year old Amber Shelton from Blount County. She disappeared Friday. That alert was cancelled though when authorities recovered the girl, and arrested Michael John Humphrey in Midland City.
Last Friday, Humphrey picked Shelton up at her home in Oneonta. Tips in the investigation led police to Hemphrey`s home in Midland City, where Shelton was recovered and safety returned to her family.
More charges are pending as the investigation continues.
Midland City Police along with the FBI, Houston County Sheriff`s Department, and the Oneonta police are all involved in the investigation.
