The President is to appear Thursday, March 10th at Auburn University at Montgomery. BAXLEY POLl: Alabama Lt. Governor Lucy Baxley is pleased with the recent poll results giving her higher public approval than incumbent Governor Bob Riley and former Governor Don Siegelman. Alabama Public Radio quotes Baxley as saying the most telling thing about the poll`s results is that, quote,"I`ve never held that job." while the other two have. Baxley wouldn`t say if the poll tempts her to run for governor. Alabama`s only female governor was Lurleen Wallace, who served a partial term in the late 1960s before dying of cancer. Baxley is from Houston County.
