FLU IN THE WORKPLACE

Flu shots have come and gone in Houston County, and whether you were one of the lucky ones to have received the shot, health experts say you should still be cautious of catching the common cold or flu in the workplace. The fact is that we are still in the height of the flu season, and with all of the rain and changing temperatures, everyone is more likely to get sick now, and those with good immune systems or the flu vaccine, are no exception. But, there are several small things that you can do that will decrease your chance of catching the bug at work. Helpful tips to avoid getting sick are, spraying Lysol or other disinfectants in common areas, and always remember to cover your mouth with kleenex when coughing or sneezing. You can also take preventative medications like herbal remedies, teas, or vitamin C, and if all else fails and you do get sick, experts say keep yourself and the germs at home. Just a note, restrictions have been lifted on the flu shots, so anyone who wants one can get one if they are available.
