PERSONNEL BOARD INVESTIGATION

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
The ongoing saga continues with the Dothan City Personnel Board`s investigation regarding former Dothan Police Captain Jim Smith. After months of investigating on their own, new City Manager Michael West has decided to conduct "his own" investigation regarding allegations made against Smith. At yesterday`s Personnel Board Meeting, the City`s Attorney, on Wests behalf, requested any information that the board had obtained during their year long investigation. The City Attorney claims he requested transcripts of witnesses testifying, and results of a polygraph test, but still has received no response from the Personnel Board after almost one month. The Chair of the Personnel Board wasn`t present, but the board voted to turn the matter of the attention of Jerry Segrest, who represents the Personnel Board. White says he has sent several letters to Segrest, and still has not gotten a response. He also added that City Commissioners are waiting to hear from Mr. West, who can not complete his investigation until the board turns over the material he has requested.
