The Houston County Commission is off and running after their regular session of the new year.
At the top of yesterday`s agenda, the issue of resurfacing several area roadways was discussed.
The Commission told WDHN News that they approved several public works projects. Tabbed for resurfacing, were Murphy Mill Road from Dale County to 231 North, County Road 203 from Hadden Rd. to 231 South, and S. Brannon Stand from U. S. 84 to Flowers Chapel Rd. The county will also replace a bridge on Brannon Stand, and begin cutting back tree limbs along County Road 203. County Engineer Mark Poole expects the tree trimming to take about a month, so 203 will be closed at S. Oates beginnning today.
Special recognition was also given to Bryant Dudley who was recognized as "Employee of the Month" at the meeting yesterday.
You can attend the meetings of the HCC...they come together every second and fourth Monday of the month at 10 AM in the County Administrative Tower on N. Oates Street.
