January First is not only a day to celebrate, but a day to dread as well, as it marks the beginning of tax season. Local tax preparers are already getting busy, helping taxpayers get back their fair share, and maybe a little more. In a few days, the H & R Block office on South Oates Street will be constantly busy until the filing deadline. That deadline of course, is April 15th, for filing state and federal tax returns.
