DOTHAN FIRE DEPARTMENT TRAINING WITH NEW SECURITY EQUIPMENT

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
The Dothan Fire Department is busy this week learning new ways to save lives. They are training on some newly obtained security equipment. The practice field, or "court", was a run-down tennis court in the Laver Hills subdivision. The fire department recently obtained grant money from the Emergency Medical Association to purchase new tools used for breaching, breaking and cutting through concrete. This is the first equipment of its kind in the area, but they are the same tools that were used in the World Trade Center and Pentagon clean ups after September 11th. The new equipment will also be useful in the event of tornadoes when rubble and debris have to be cut through.
