A MAJOR DRUG BUST IN HOUSTON COUNTY

Updated: January 7, 2009
Dothan Police and Houston County Sheriff`s deputies teamed up to make yet another area drug bust. This time they seized over 20-thousand dollars worth of illegal drugs. Sheriff Lamar Glover said that police executed a search warrant on North Park Avenue Tuesday night which resulted in confiscating over 20-thousand dollars in drugs, two shotguns, two pistols and some counterfeit money. There was 19-thousand dollars worth of pure cocaine, one thousand dollars worth of marijuana, 1350 bags to put powder cocaine in to be sold by the gram, 2800 per ounce. 27-year old Reginald Grant was home at the time and was arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine and possession of marijuana...both offenses of first degree. He remains in the Houston County Jail on a 60-thousand dollar bond. Sheriff Glover said they have mug shots, he may not be a serious drug user, but a serious seller...that`s what he`s in business for..to sell cocaine. Houston County Sheriff`s office and Narcotics Officers have been working on the case for two weeks, and received information from investigative sources which led them to execute the search warrant. Glover says he`s pleased with the progress the sheriff`s department has made thus far, and he plans on keeping up the good work. Grant will be charged at a federal level for his weapons charges, and at a local level for his drug charges.
