Updated: January 7, 2009
It is now official...the Wiregrass will be receiving millions of dollars in federal funds for the I-10 connector. U. S. Senator Richard Shelby of Alabama announced that President Bush signed into law, the Consolidated Appropriations Bill for 2005, which includes those funds. The I-10 connector project will now receive ten million dollars. Of course, the much talked about project aims to connect Dothan and the Wiregrass area with Interstate 10 in Florida. About both the money and the project, Senator Shelby says both will greatly improve access and traffic flow throughout Southeast Alabama.
