HOLIDAY GAS PRICES

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
If you are planning on driving over the Thanksgiving holiday, you should find gasoline readily available, and while the prices are high compared to a year ago, they are lower than in the recent past. Alabama AAA says petroleum supplies are more plentiful because worldwide demand has eased, and production has recovered from hurricane season. At one point right after Hurricane Ivan, crude oil production in the Gulf of Mexico was down 25 percent because of storm damage to pipelines and drilling rigs. The average price of a gallon of unleaded gasoline in Alabama sits right now at about $1.90 per gallon.
