SOLDIERS HONORED ON VETERAN`S DAY

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Veterans and soldiers from across the nation and Wiregrass were honored yesterday on Veteran`s Day. Many here in the Wiregrass, spent the rainy day thanking veterans for putting their lives on the line for the cause of freedom. Early yesterday morning, the Wiregrass Veteran`s Alliance hosted a service to honor the men and women of our military. Veterans, along with Miss Alabama 2003, Mayor Chester Sowell, Houston County Commission Chairman Mark Culver, and Alabama State Senator Harri Anne Smith, all participated in the event. Many of those veterans said setting aside a holiday to recognize past and present soldiers means more to them than many may think. WDHN would like to say we appreciate all of the soldiers and veterans who serve, or have served, this great country. Thank you...we are proud to be Americans!
