Featured speakers included retired Lieutenant Commander Burton Wright and Operation Iraqi Freedom Veteran, U. S. Army Sergeant Brian Heusterberg, who is currently stationed at Ft. Rucker.
Also, in honor of today`s holiday, Governor Bob Riley proclaimed yesterday as "Honor our Military Day", encouraging employers throughout the state to allow their workers who served, or are presently serving in the military to wear their military uniforms.
The Governor is also encouraging Alabamians that if they see someone in uniform, to thank them for "helping to make America the greatest country on the face of the earth".
