President Mike Schimtz and Area Manager George Colletti, along with other executives, donated a brand new hybrid car for higher learning yesterday.
Students at Wallace Community College`s Toyota Technical Education Program drove off the lot in their new hybrid-drive Prius. The car will be used for the T-Ten Program which started back in 1986, designed to develop highly trained auto professionals.
Mr. Colletti said, (quote) "it`s our pleasure to donate this toyota to Wallace Community College and the Toyota Prius is an electric hybrid...it`s the most advanced technology out there. What we like to do is look into our Community Colleges where we have our Toyota Automotive Training Programs so when they graduate, they work on your produce...they`re gonna fix it right the first time." (end quote)
Students were pleased to be the first to test drive the state of the art vehicle...officials say the donation reflects Toyota`s commitment to higher education.
