The flu vaccine has finally arrived at the Houston County Health Department.
Of course with the national shortage right now, just getting the shots in has been quite a feat, and officials still say there is a good chance there won`t be enough to go around.
Peggy Blakeney with the Health Department says that it`s true the flu shots have come to the County Health Department, but they are scarce. She says, "we normally receive about 5000, and we received 2000, about 40% less of the vaccine...but you still have to qualify. We are not taking appointments, we will start about 8:00AM. The lines can get pretty long, but the rule is first come first serve, but you shouldn`t get there too early."
County officials are unsure when the next batch will be admistered, but they speculate that it will be in late December, if at all.
