At the Houston County Commission meeting yesterday, Commissioners proclaimed the week of October 23rd-31st as "Red Ribbon Week". This year the Dothan-Houston County Substance Abuse Partnership is sponsoring the Red Ribbon Campaign, offering citizens support in creating a health, drug free community. Substance Abuse is one of the three leading causes of death for teenagers. Officials say youth may only make up about 15 percent of our nation, but they are 100 percent America`s future. The Red Ribbon Campaign will be celebrated in every community across the United States during "Red Ribbon Week".
