A RASH OF CAR BREAK-INS IN AREA

Dothan police are asking for your help as they deal with a recent rash of car burglaries around the city. So far, 24 cases have already been reported in the first few days of October alone, while 45 cases were reported in the month of September. In these cases, however, Captain John Givens says both the thieves and the car owners are to blame for their crimes. Example, one car was left unlocked and the purse was laying in the floorboard.... the robber took the purse. Captain Givens says there have been numerous incidents of people locking their cars, thinking they are safe from crime, but he says making your valuables visible, like purses, cell phones and electronics is still an invitation for trouble.
