The Hurricane Ivan recovery effort is still in motion across the state of Alabama, and the Federal Government is granting Alabama about four-million dollars in relief funds for the state`s senior citizens. Older Alabamaians in 53 of the state`s 67 counties are eligble for that assistance, which comes in the form of transportation for medical needs, money for medical supplies, food, shelter and other essentials. Those age 60 and over may be eligible for the aid...residents can call 800-621-FEMA to find out if they qualify.
