If you thought gas prices had recently gone down for good...go by and fill your tank today...this week, crude oil prices surpassed 50 dollars a barrel for the first time ever.
Analysts predict that prices could shoot up even higher because of a sharp rise in global demand, tight supplies, and threats of output in petroleum producing nations such as Iraq and Nigeria.
WDHN spoke to several local people, who said the high prices will keep them off the road, while others said it wouldn`t effect their plans.
Hurricane Ivan is also to blame for the receipt spike, as the storm caused supply disruptions.
