Wiregrass community members joined together yesterday to map out plans for this year`s National Peanut Festival which opens with the ribbon cutting on Friday, November 5th. The theme for this year`s festival is, "We Are Family." This years entertainment will start on Saturday, November 6th, with "Mustang Sally" kicking off the week, followed by Stacie Erriko and Silk, as well as country music singer Joe Nichols. Ft. Rucker`s Commanding General, E. J. Sinclair will be this year`s Grand Marshall, and he considers it an honor, especially at this point in our nation`s history. He said, "it is an honor to represent all service members around the world, and also great that the local community shows good support to recognize the military during this time, the 50th birthday of Ft. Rucker." Officials say that every year the festival gets bigger and better, and they don`t expect this year to be an exception. All of the concerts are free with admission tickets, but officials say all of the acts encourage audience participation which they say will require you to buy a "reserve seat"...those tickets go on sale for $10.00 each today...general admission tickets will be $7.00 each.
