WIREGRASS MENTAL HEALTH RECEIVES GRANT

One area agency will soon have some extra funds at their disposal, thanks to the help of an Alabama politician. U. S. Senator Richard Shelby announced a 100-thousand dollar drug-free communities matching grant for the Wiregrass Mental Health Board. The money will be used to help prevent and reduce drug, alcohol, and tobacco use among youth and young adults in the Wiregrass. Senator Shelby was able to help secure the funds by serving as the Chairman of a subcommitee of the U. S. Senate.
