Alabama`s recovery efforts are moving forward for victims of Hurricane Ivan this week. Governor Bob Riley and U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary, Alphonso Jackson, will be in town today meeting with local officials and storm victims, as well as distributing emergency relief supplies.
Meanwhile, Alabama Power has announced that it is closing in on its goal of restoring power to 99-percent of its customers some time today. A company spokesperson says most of the problem areas are now scattered around Mobile and Baldwin counties, and a few in the Montgomery area.
