Updated: January 7, 2009
One of the biggest corporate fraud cases in history is set to go to trial in January, and is going to bring national attention to the city of Dothan. Healthsouth`s former C. E. O. Richard Scrushy, has reorganized his legal defense team, and has tapped a Dothan attorney to head it up. Attorney Jim Parkman, whose offices are on West Main, has now been appointed as the lead defense attorney in Scrushy`s Federal Fraud case. Parkman is replacing Washington Attorney Abbie Lowell, who has taken on a huge case in Mississippi. Sources say that Lowell will still play a role in Scrushy`s defense.
