Updated: January 7, 2009
The Houston County School Board held their meeting last night with a couple of note-worthy items on their agenda. First, they approved their annual "at risk" budget...which deals with students who have above and beyond needs, and requires certain criteria to pass. The board also received a proposal on P. A. systems in hopes of getting a new system to serve all Houston County School Classrooms....the current P. A. system is aging, and the board is hoping to improve communication in schools between principals and classrooms...right now board members are looking into different options. Kenneth Lord, County School Superintendent, says he hopes to have a decision on the P. A. system within a month.
