Updated: January 7, 2009
Rental Car Agencies and Storage Building facilities in Dothan can expect to receive a letter in the mail this week, reminding owners to be on the lookout for suspicious activity. The letter is coming from Dothan Police Chief John White regarding an advisory from the F. B. I.`s Joint Terrorism Task Force. South Oates Mini Storage and Enterprise Rent-A-Car are just two examples of storage buildings and rental car facilities in Dothan that will be receiving Chief White`s letter, telling the owners to be on the lookout for any suspicious activities, in hopes of making the Wiregrass homeland as safe as possible. In cooperation with the F. B. I.`s Joint Terrorism Task Force, they are asking tht owners and operators of facilities to be a little more vigilent, like for them to pay more attention as to what the F. B. I. has identified as suspicious activities, and report those activities in a prompt fashion to Dothan Police Department or the F. B. I. White says there are numerous cases where they use rental cars/buildings during lookouts, and the owners need to report anything suspicious. Reluctance to provide identification, insisting on paying cash, and reports of rental vehicles parked for prolonged periods of time near government military or other high profile sites, are just a few of the many tips the advisory owners need to look out for, and officials say assistance of others will make Dothan a safer community. The Joint Terrorist Task Force which parities our attempt to keep homeland safe, and obviously we need joint partners in the community to assist us. The advisory also says that there are no specific threats that require owners direct attention, but, it takes vigilance to help prevent future terrorist attacks on U. S. soil.
