The former head of the Southeast Alabama Medical Center, Jim Blackmon, is facing charges of driving under the influence, and this isn`t a first for him. This makes the third time in two years that Blackmon has been charged with driving drunk. The latest incident occured this past Friday night when Blackmon was driving north on Montgomery Highway without any headlights. He failed to stop initially when an officer turned on this lights, but once the officer finally got him pulled over, he detected the smell of alcohol on Blackmon`s breath. He was cuffed and taken to jail.
Blackmon has quite a history with the law...he was convicted in 1999 of stealing about 375-thousand dollars from the Southeast Alabama Medical Center where he worked at the time.
