The City of Dothan Pension Board met yesterday afternoon to address benefit applications for some twenty year city employees who are not wanting to transfer to the Alabama Retirement System which becomes effective a month from today. Police Chief John White along with five other employees, re-submitted applications to draw pensions now, but only two of those requests were approved yesterday. There were six employees opting to draw their benefits. The two approved were Wanda Maddox and David Kirkland; both have decided to go ahead and take full retirement. The board also withdrew about twenty-two million dollars from AmSouth Bank to put into R.S.A.
