Governor Bob Riley says his administration is making a decided effort to help Alabama soldiers vote in the November election. The Governor says state law currently does not allow deployed troops to vote using the internet system set up by the Defense Department. He does say, however, that his office will work with the U. S. Postal Service to speed up the process for absentee ballots. It was announced last week, that the state would not cooperate with a request from the Pentagon allowing troops deployed overseas to use internet ballots.
