After only a day of deliberations, a Houston County jury reached a verdict in the murder trial of Eugene Andrews.
Andrews was declared guilty in the shooting death of his wife, Denise.
It happened in August of 2000 at Cedar Heights Apartment complex, after the two got into an argument over the wife`s extra-martial affair.
Andrews had pled not guilty, and his defense team argued that the victim had actually shot him, and then turned the gun on herself.
He was originally charged with murder first degree, but yesterday, was convicted on the lesser charge of manslaughter.
Andrews faces a minimum of ten years in prison and a maximum of twenty years. He is free on 100-thousand dollar bond.
