STATE AUDITOR BETH CHAPMAN SPEAKS AT ROTARY

Updated: January 7, 2009
Alabama`s State Auditor Beth Chapman, fifth in line to Governor Bob Riley, spoke at yesterday`s Dothan Rotary Club. The State Auditor is reponsible for all of the property the state owns. Chapman is an extreme conservative and sources say she watches over taxpayers money as if it were her own. Yesterday, she spoke about government waste, and cited some specific examples of what she saw when first elected to office. Chapman mentioned an unnamed state agency that came up missing eighteen official vehicles, saying that often the government simply writes such losses off. She says that is unacceptable, and officials should be held accountable to state taxpayers.
