RED CROSS ALWAYS PREPARED

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Luckily, we missed the bulk of the storm Bonnie, but if it had come through town, the American Red Cross says they were prepared. While the agency stays prepared all year long...when a storm does threaten to come this way there are a lot of last minute items to take care of. Phyllis Walsh, a volunteer at the Red Cross, says it has been a hectic week for them. She says shelters that would have been opened yesterday, were notified and released. The Red Cross Emergency vehicle has also been, and still is, on standby...and may even be sent to Florida to help assist in Hurricane Charley. The American Red Cross always needs volunteers to assist in emergencies such as this one. If you or anyone you know is interested, you may call them at 792-9852.
