WICKSBURG FIRE DEPARTMENT TO RECEIVE GRANT

Senator Richard Shelby announced the Wicksburg Volunteer Fire Department will receive over 57-thousand dollars in grant funds to shore up operations and safety. The money is earmarked for training, protective equipment, and improvements to fire stations and related facilities. The grant was awarded by The Department of Homeland Security as a part of the `Assistance to Firefighters` program...which will distribute a total of 750 million dollars to firefighters this year, nationwide.
