Also coming out of Tuesday`s Commission Meeting, interim City Manager Jerry Corbin, clarified for commissioners tht he, in no way, tried to cause a delay in the Personnel Board`s Investigation of Police Chief John White...He has been accused of interfering with an interview with ciy I-T Director Tim Stewart. That allegation was made by the board in it`s recent report.
Tht report states, "The Board also finds troubling that the interim city manager would advise an employee of the city of Dothan to refuse to be interviewed.." Corbin says..."that statement is just not true. He was not sure what his involvement should be, and he had some questions..some of those questions I couldn`t answer but at the same time, I told him that I didn`t know whether he was mandated by any legal binding to talk with the board."
Mayor Sowell also asked that the city manager and city attorney look into what steps the city needs to take next for its part in the ongoing investigation.
