Updated: January 7, 2009
County authorities are running into a roadblock when it comes to several road repair projects in the works. Every year the Federal Government gives money to counties for the maintenance of it`s roads. Those funds are not to be used for new streets and bridges, but can be used to widen or resurface existing roads. Right now, there are four roads in the county that need resurfacing, including New Hope Road to South Park Avenue, Brannon Stand from state Highway 52 to Fortner Street, Hodgesville Road and County Road 55 from Gene Terry Road to Nobles Road. County Engineer Mark Pool says that this years money is on hold...and so are these progects.
