The stack keeps growing and the variety is even better...
The Dothan Fire Department and Salvation Army have collected jackets for every shape and size for their annual coat drive, in hopes of keeping those in need warm during the bitter cold.
"Our goal is to get coats to people in need. We don`t want anyone to be cold this year," says Captain Ed Roberts, Dothan Fire Department.
The fire department has been collecting coats for several weeks and tomorrow is the last day to turn themin.
They will e collecting jackets until 7 p.m. tomorrow night and say they accept all types, but children`s coats are desperately needed.
Bringing in coats to keep families warm started out as a simple idea. That one idea has turned into a tradition at the Dothan Fire Department, and a tradition that seems to get better and better every year.
"The fire department is here to help people, that`s our job. We love to help the public in any way possible," says Roberts.
Thanks to the community, this year`s coat drive has broken all records...which means more individuals will stay warm this holiday season.
