Wallace Community College recently got the United States Congressional approval for $800,000.00 in new program funding with the help of Congressman Terry Everett. The funds will enable the college to expand its computer program. Five hundred thousand will be used to establish 21 electronic classrooms with advanced state-of-the-art technology, primarily for their Science and Health Education Building, including on-line courses and archived lectures on demand via the internet. Three hundred thousand dollars will be used to support the Southeast Alabama Nursing Initiative headquartered at the college, which targets the instruction of nurses in the Wiregrass.
