DOTHAN MAN DIES IN WRECK

Mack Giles apparently drove his car into the path of oncoming U-S 231 traffic. A short time later the 59-year old Giles was dead from injuries he sustained in the crash. It happened Tuesday afternoon at Southgate Road when Giles` car was struck by an oncoming S-U-V. The two occupants of the sports vechile, who are from Grand Ridge, Florida, received only minor injuries as a result of the accident. Giles` was taken to Southeast Alabama Medical Center who he was pronounced dead by Houston County Coroner Robert Byrd. Police traffic investigator Sgt. Tim Ward says he does not expect any charges to filed in connection with the fatal crash.
