From bumper cars to ferris wheels, workers are busy unloading boxes and preparing for the big week. The fair is in town and its usually every kids dream and many parents nightmare...Exactly how safe are these rides?
Jason Floyd is the Genreal Manger of Cumberland Valley Shows, which is one of the two companies participating in the fair. He says they trained as well inspected by the federal government as much as 15 times per year.
"Our supervisors ,buy rides and they send representatives down to us for two weeks to train us. They go through the set up, procedure, and we as supervisors teach our employees," says Floyd.
Floyd also says theyve had many employees as long as 20 to 30 years. "They set up these rides, we show them how, and they set up,wash them and get them ready for public," he said.
Rides at the fair usually appeal the most to kids but this year it offers 51 rides and they say there is something for everyone to enjoy. To help increase the size of the fair, sometimes companies will pair up in order to offer more rides and a better atmosphere.
From supervisors to the federal government, the jobs of these employees are checked on daily...all to ensure you and your family can sit back and enjoy the ride....
