NAT`L PEANUT FEST PREPS

Its National Peanut Festival time again meaning hundreds of officials and volunteers are working diligently preparing for the big event. Peanut Festival President Wayne Palmer says he credits a large part of the success of this annual event to dedicated vendors, employees and volunteers. "We have about 400 volunteers who participate to get everything ready and temporary employees, its quite an operation that takes several weeks," says Palmer. The Peanut Festival is judged annually by the Alabama Association of Fairs. This marks the 60th year celebration of the festival, which kicks off on October 31, 2003 at 5 p.m.
