Today, Mayor Chester Sowell and city commissioners officially announced and accepted Dennis Rubins resignation as Dothan City Manager.
The commission also announced the appointment of Jerry Corbin as interim replacement for the next sixty to ninety days.
Rubin has been hired as the new Fire Chief for Atlanta, Georgia.
Corbin will take over as City Manager just as soon as the position is vacated by Rubin effective November 28, 2003.
Mayor Sowell says what the city needs now is a strong businessman to help keep Dothan moving in a positive direction.
The commission is expected to formulate a plan in the next couple of weeks concerning a permanent replacement for Rubin.
