It been over twenty years since the city of Dothan took a comprehensive look at employees` compensation and classifications. In today`s city commission meeting, officials presented the Slavin Study to find out where city positions and salaries rank according to national standards.
"The Slavin group complied data so that we now have a new pay plan which tells employees what their minimum pay and maximum pay is," says city human resource manager, Kai Davis.
According to the study, Dothan is right in line with the vast majority of jobs, and Davis says that`s good news for the city.
Davis also says some employees should expect salary increases in the near future according to the report, but others who are already above the national average won`t be getting any pay increases for a while.
"Employees who will receive an increase in salary will be happy, naturally, and employees who are not going to get an increase they`re going to be disappointed," says Davis.
