Dionne Blair teaches third through fifth grade resources at Jerry Lee Fayne Elementary School. Shes been teaching for seven years and says she loves her job because of the impact she has on her students. "When I teach everyday I come with the focus of what I want to instruct my students, to empower them and impact lives so not only focus on their disabilities and weaknesses but know that whatever they set their mind to, they can do it" says Blair. This isnt the first award she has received for teaching. She is currently recognized as "Teacher of the Year" for the school, which is voted on by the student body. Students say they are excited for Blair and believe she deserves the award for several reasons. "She deserves it because she comes to your desk and answers your questions," says Princeton Thomas. Kiera Thomas says "shes nice, fun to talk to, takes time with us,". Blair encourages her students to always strive for the best. "My goal for students is for them to be the best they can be. No matter what it is, as long as they put forth their best effort,". Congraulations Ms. Blair! You are this weeks "Golden Apple Award Winner". JANA JACOBS-REPORTER WDHN 18
