Sears has been a part of the Dothan community for a long time. 62 years, in fact. Their first location took place in 1941 on West Main street. 18 years later they moved again to their current downtown location.
This year, Sears has remodeled 100 stores to give a new look and better shopping experience and they feel fortunate to be a part of the renovation.
Everything from the lighting to the floors has been renovated. And that`s not all. They have added fine jewelry, more name brands in the apparel section and a bigger self serve shoe department.
"Weve added some departments and expanded some," says the store manager.
Sears has been located in the same building for 44 years. Both customers and employees say they are excited about the new renovation.
Pamela Borbon, employee, says "Sear has spent well over a million dollars in renovations,".
So all this work calls for a celebration.
This saturday they are holding a "Grand Reopening". Store hours are 9 a.m. till 9 p.m. The ribbon cutting will be held at 8:40 a.m.
Sears employees realize its not all about their looks. They believe their customers satisfaction is most important.
"Our company really values the feedback from our customers. They told the company what they wanted, which was quick service, and we hope to offer that format better than before," .
