Every week WDHN and Sylvan Learning Center present a "Golden Apple Award" to a teacher who shows excellence in the classroom. WDHN`S Jana Jacobs went to Ashford to surprise this weeks winner with the award...
Sandra Vickers has been teaching math for 15 years. She teaches at Ashford High School and understands the important role she plays in students lives.
I hope to be a positive part of each students life," says Vickers.
Students say she deserves the award because of her style. They believe she is "sweet" and "helpful".
Vickers main goal is to help students make progress while in her classroom.
"I hope they leave me with more knowledge than they came in with," she says.
