POLICE SAY WOMAN MURDERED

A Wicksburg woman is dead and a Newton man behind bars following a shooting in southern Dale County. Sheriff Bryant Mixon says 37-year old Paricia Tomlin died when she was apparently shot to death at a boat landing near Newton. Family members had notified authorities prior to the shooting that they were concerned of Tomlin`s whereabouts. Newton police, a short time later, noticed a truck that the victim was believed to be occupying and followed it to a nearby residents where they found the body Ms. Tomlin installed. 34-year old Christopher Hawthorne has been charged with murder and booked into the Houston County Jail.
