OPP GETS SOCKED WITH LOSS OF JOBS

Some 300 people are losing their jobs at Johnston Industries in Opp. Johnston has been making decorative fabrics in Opp since the early 1900s`. It also has factories in Phenix City and Valley. The shutdown date is expected to come around August 15th. City officials say they are encouraged by three possible prospects for new industry in Opp.
