You don't have to have pollen allergies to know that it's that time of year again, time for Dothan's annual Azalea Dogwood Festival.

It's the seven mile trail that has nearly 50 years of tradition behind it.

Mapped out with pink arrows, the Azalea Dogwood Trail takes visitors along Dothan's garden district, where people living along the trail take their job seriously.

"Knowing that all of these cars would come by, it was a real challenge to get out in the yard and make sure everything was looking great," said Jason Rudd.

Rudd is just one of the homeowners planning his weekend outside.

If you drive by the trail between Thursday and Sunday, you'll see plenty of people doing last minute yard work.

For Carol Jones, the owner of Jones Lawn Care, the Azalea Dogwood Trail  brings a big boost in business.

"It gives us continuous business. Not only with our company but with a lot of lawn care people," said Jones.

All of the hard work will pay off as the homes and their springtime blooms will be seen by hundreds come Sunday.

"People look forward to it every year," said Larry Patrick, with Dothan Leisure Services. "We have a lot of visitors come through to see it not only from the surrounding counties of Dothan but the Florida panhandle and from southwest Georgia."

Though the date of the event may change each year depending on the weather, the pride of keeping with tradition will remain for those living along the trail.

The Azalea Dogwood Trail will take place this Sunday at 2pm. It begins at the corner of West Main and Woodland Drive.
